Responsibilities

My responsibilities at my internship have been to attend committee and subcommittee meetings pertaining to our early childhood agenda at the capitol during the legislative session with my adviser. I also help with the legislative update for the organization, run social media accounts and other office task such as printing copying and retrieving bills from the senate and house.

Memorable experience

I think the most memorable experience has been working with the department of ed and other educational agency to find funding for preschool expansion.

What advice would you give?

If you think advocacy is something your interested in find an organization that you want to support and volunteer your time and get involved however you can.

How did you learn about this experience?

I knew that I wanted to work with a younger population in a different way than in the classroom so I began to research advocacy organizations for young children and found the Child and Family Policy Center.
