Certified Family Life Educator

The National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) has approved the undergraduate program in human development and family studies (HDFS) as meeting the standards and criteria required for the Provisional Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) Designation.

The Academic Program Review Committee determined that the HDFS program includes adequate course work for the ten content areas required for the CFLE designation.

HDFS students who have completed the specified courses under each of the ten family life substance areas qualify to apply for provisional certification through the abbreviated application process.
