Lesia Oesterreich receives national 2018 Excellence in Extension Award

Lesia Oesterreich, a family life extension specialist in human development and family studies, will receive the 2018 Excellence in Extension Award from the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture, Cooperative Extension, and the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities. The award will be presented to Oesterreich at a ceremony on Nov. 11, in New Orleans, Louisiana at APLU’s annual meeting. The honor recognizes her leadership of outstanding educational programs for teachers and caregivers that significantly increase their understanding of child development, early learning, positive behavior reinforcement, nutrition, and health and safety practices. The programs are accessed by more than 36,000 early childhood educators each year who teach an estimated 165,000 children annually.
