New guidelines for planning and hosting events include registration requirement for university authorization

To ensure a safe and welcoming environment, new guidelines for event hosts — including colleges and departments, administrative units, and venues — require registering them online in the university’s event authorization system. Registering events helps the university plan for additional visitors to campus, assess any risks associated with the events, and ensure that every participant has a positive experience. The guidelines outline best practices for event planners, including consideration of physical distancing, food service, hygiene, cleaning and disinfection, and keeping participants informed in cases circumstances change. Additional processes may be required for events featuring food, alcohol, animals, youth, non-university vendors, or gambling/raffles.
