PsyPost runs story on new study by Birdie Shirtcliff reveals how skydiving impacts your testosterone and cortisol levels: A skydiving study by Elizabeth (Birdie) Shirtcliff, an associate professor in human development and family studies, suggests that both the sex hormone testosterone and the stress-related hormone cortisol increase in first-time and experienced skydivers when they anticipate their fall. The study, which was publish in the April 2019 issue of the journal Biological Psychology, was described in a PsyPost news article posted on April 7.
