Shadowing the office staff/administration: Director, Office Manager, Center Coordinator and the Administrative Assistant. I have learned how to process payroll, schedule staff, meet with lead teachers and therapists. I have also been able to shadow the lead teachers at the center and learn a lot about lesson planning and the software that they use to create an appropriate classroom environment.

I feel like the greatest accomplishment that I have from my experience is learning GOLD Teaching Strategies and Creative Curriculum. I feel like I am prepared to have my own classroom of any age group!

What advice would you give?

My advice for future students is to put your all into your internship and ask a lot of questions so that you can learn all that you can during that time. Also be sure to be involved and ask for more responsibilities as you get comfortable with them so that they know you are learning and are able to fit in with their goal and mission.
