Responsibilities

Created social media posts to promote the organization itself and financial literacy. Researched other organizations, government benefits, grants, and other resources that could benefit clients. Helped plan fundraising events, such as the annual Iowa Able Run, by organizing volunteers, asking for sponsors/donors, and creating promotional material.

Accomplishments

My financial education videos were a hit in the office. The executive director, Anna, loved them especially but so did all of my friends, family, and many of our clients/followers on social media.

What advice would you give?

Don't be scared of unpaid internships. It's just like taking another class and the knowledge and skills you can gain are worth it!
