Responsibilities

I am paired with a foster care caseworker so I am able to observe and assist on home visits and court hearings. I also do paperwork (mileages, petitions, contacts, etc.) and supervise parenting times, as well as transport children to various things such as parenting times or therapy sessions.

Accomplishments

I have gotten to know some of the families we are working with pretty well, and when the kids feel like they can talk to me I feel like that is a win, because I want to be someone they can trust with anything. It's also exciting when we get to reunify families which we are getting to do this next week!!

What advice would you give?

Ask a ton of questions about anything and everything! Advocate for yourself and make sure you are getting experience with the things that you want to know about!
