Responsibilities
As one of the assistant program directors, my primary responsibility is to help plan programs for the effectiveness of the bible camp for our campers. I also initiate and set specific goals and manage my staff. I was also assigned to be the health coordinator and worship coordinator, responsible for any health concerns and ensuring medications were administered. I coordinate and plan worship services and participate in worship leadership.
Accomplishments
My greatest accomplishment during my internship experience is making an impact in the life of the children and bringing them closer to Jesus. The most rewarding feeling is knowing you were able to inspire someone and help change their lives. I was also able to enhance my leadership and people person skills.
Learning experience
The greatest lesson I have learned from my experience is there's always room for improvement. We always learn every day. Every workplace is different, but we should prepare our hearts and mind to adapt and be open and willing to take on new challenges.
What advice would you give?
My advice to future Human Development and Family Studies students is to keep your goal in mind. I encourage you to think about why you want to be in this field and to know your purpose: to inspire and change people's lives.
