Responsibilities

I helped provide a positive and safe living environment for the students who are completing their programs at Woodward. I assisted other staff with facilitating program activities, as well as providing students with positive role-modeling.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishments from my experience would be making the connections that I did with not only the great coworkers that I had the honor to work with, but also being able to build relationships with clients and being able to help in improving their lives. Knowing that I have had even a slight positive impact in a student's life is very rewarding to me personally because that is why I got into this field.

What advice would you give?

My advice to future students is to look into aspects of your field that you hadn't thought about or aspects that you are not totally sure are a fit for you. I say this because an internship is a great opportunity to get a real experience at something to see if it is really right for you or to be surprised at finding something you really enjoy that you hadn't even thought about. Also to make sure to work on narrowing down your internship choices earlier than later so you don't run out of time or get overwhelmed with offers.
