Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment during my internship experience was developing relationship with the youth I worked with, and helping change them for the better.

Learning experience

The greatest lesson I learned from this experience is that just because someone has done something bad they are still such a good person, and can turn it around. I worked at a youth home that was very similar to a juvenile detention center, but it was based on rehabilitation. So, a lot of these boys have done bad things, but when you get to know them you understand them, and you see that they are good people. They just got lost, and need some guidance.

What advice would you give?

Some advice I have for future students is to make sure your heart is in this career path. It is a super challenging job, but if your heart is it then bad days make the rest of the days feel so good.
