For my internship I am working in ACCESS Center at Youth Emergency Services and Shelter. My internship responsibilities include answering and completing crisis calls, answering phones, completing intakes for children entering the shelter, and doing small projects during down times. I also sit up front and buzz people inside the building and check them in.
My greatest accomplishment from my experience is I was able to learn how to complete an intake in a short amount of time. I am now able to work in Access on my own and know how to complete an intake. I worked in another department of YESS so I was also able to learn about another department.
What advice would you give?
I would advise you to not do an internship in your current place of work because it may interfere with your other role in the company. I would also advise you to do your internship in something that you are very interested in and passionate about.
