The main responsibilities during this internship were supervising children, planning and facilitating age-appropriate activities, communicating with other co-workers about the schedule and the children, and communicating with parents about children's behavior or other matters.
There is not one major thing I can think about that happened throughout my internship, but I have felt like through a couple of interactions, I have really made a difference in children's lives because the children that attend the club sometimes come from bad experiences so being that supportive person can help them a lot.
There are many things that I have learned throughout this experience, but one major thing that I have learned is just that not all children are the same, and how you talk to one child might be completely different from the way you may talk to another child.
What advice would you give?
My one big piece of advice for future students would be to ask questions whether that be to your supervisor or other staff members. Even though it may seem dumb, stupid, or an inconvenience those people are there for a reason and would love to help and make your experience better.
