VanWaardhuizen named ACTE Teacher Educator of the Year

The Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) honored Laura VanWaardhuizen as the national 2024 Teacher Educator of the year. VanWaardhuizen was one of five finalists for the award and was announced as the winner during ACTE’s CareerTech VISION 2023 conference in November.

She is a Family and Consumer Sciences Education and Studies program coordinator and assistant teaching professor in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies, the home of Iowa State’s Family and Consumer Sciences Education and Studies program.

ACTE Awards Gala

VanWaardhuizen was announced as the national Teacher Educator of the Year the awards gala, part of the ACTE’s CareerTech VISION 2023 conference. The gala recognizes the best CTE educators in the country with the organization’s ACTE Excellence Awards.
